EDUGATES® Strengths

1.    Using Research in the Science of Learning to Effect Higher Student Learning
EDUGATES® are the developers of the unique focus/ICDL teaching methodology that has recently been very strongly supported by the findings of educational research that is taking place in Carnegie Melon and Pittsburgh Universities joint Pittsburgh Science of Learning Centre.  In June 2010, the centre published a summary of its theory and findings under the title The Knowledge-Learning-Instruction (KLI) Framework - Toward Bridging the Science-Practice Chasm to Enhance Robust Student Learning.  The research is being lead by Professors Kenneth R. Koedinger, Albert T. Corbett and Charles Perfetti who are assisted by members of the Pittsburgh Science of Learning Centre. It focuses on bridging the gap between what science knows so far about learning and how learning actually happens for students through identifying effective instructional practices for different complexities of knowledge. The EDUGATES® instructional methodology focuses on ‘curriculum elements’ similar to the ‘knowledge components’ in the Pittsburgh research. Each curriculum element is introduced, its understanding is checked, thereafter it is drilled and then linked to the overall body of knowledge. The EDUGATES® team continue to study this research as a basis for a sound, research-based foundation for the development of the focus/ICDL methodology.

2.    AEMS
The Advanced Educational Management System (AEMS) developed by EDUGATES® contains many unique and innovative features, two of which are mentioned here.  The IT controlled Task Accomplishment Assurance (process assurance) feature is a novel IT technique and feature of quality management, which guarantees that the flow of work and accomplishment of tasks happen in complete accordance with management’s defined priorities and which provides real time reports. Another innovative and unique feature is the TPSP feature which ensures that perspectives within AEMS, such as menus, dashboards, etc. are task priority-sensitive; i.e. displays and menus are dynamic and vary automatically from one employee to another and with each employee’s seasonal duties.

3.    Culture
EDUGATES® is unique in its culture. The CEO is the author of “The Educators’ Professional Oath”, a valuable contribution to the world of education that stems from the social and professional convictions of the founders, and their educational philosophy.  Both the company’s Board of Directors and its leading team, view the different world cultures with an open mind while having earnest convictions towards the strengths of the local traditions and culture.
