In order to raise generations who possess knowledge, skills, values and awareness, schools need to believe in the empowerments of their educators as front line ambassadors to model their institution’s educational mission. From this reality, EDUGATES® has developed its own educational training courses, workshops and staff development programs which employ the professionalism of business-oriented training in a manner which meets educational missions.

Below is a list of types of training and development services offered by EDUGATES®.

Training Needs Analysis “TNA” Studies

Any school which seeks to be, or remain, a learning organisation, must first gather information about itself. This is where our company begins with its services for teacher development. Training Needs Analysis is a study conducted to evaluate performance of an educational institution and its employees. By having a clear idea of the needs and expectations, the institution can identify the training courses and workshops needed and deliver a targeted program. Hence, EDUGATES®  can conduct a TNA based on interviews, surveys, observations and meetings, and deliver a detailed report to advise a training strategy that tackles the institution’s requirements.

 Readymade Training Courses and Workshops

Readymade training courses and workshops are affordable, standard courses that   target a general audience rather than specific employees. EDUGATES® has designed and can effectively deliver a wide range of such courses at short notice.   We provide schools and educators with expert basic, technical, functional, and soft/managerial training courses. Each of these forms a knowledge production foundation that takes a school towards higher levels of performance.

- The Basic Pillar courses include Health, Safety and Security, The Educator’s Ethics and The Green School.
- The Technical Pillar courses include IT Basics, Technology in Education, and Revamp Your Knowledge.
- The Functional Pillar courses include The Effective Class, Teaching Preparation, and Classroom Management.
- The Soft/Managerial Pillar courses include Time Management, Child Motivation, Parents and School and the Real Qualities of a Good School.

Tailor-made Training Courses and Workshops
Tailor-made workshops and courses are designed taking into consideration the institution’s core philosophy, environment and needs. These focused and institutionally personalized tailor-made courses and workshops are designed upon request and delivered by EDUGATES® highly experienced educational consultants.

Train the Specialist Workshop
A specialist is a highly qualified, knowledgeable person in a certain field who can benefit from improving their communication and presentation skills in order to train other colleagues more effectively. Hence, the Train the Specialist workshop coaches these specialists to design and deliver internal training sessions using professional interactive means. EDUGATES®  has experience in developing and empowering a school’s own specialist whose skills can reduce the cost of outsourced training. The specialist thus becomes a long term training asset for their institution.

 Leadership Mentoring

Coaching and mentoring build leader confidence and promote continued professional growth and development. Attending to the ‘people’ and ‘relationship’ aspects of professional life in education is important as the work involves high levels of stress and calls on a person’s resilience. School leaders are in a fairly isolated position and therefore benefit from a regular private, secure and trustworthy setting to reflect, plan, debrief and sound out new ideas. Leadership expertise is developed through reflective practice.
In our work, the purpose and aims of the mentoring relationship are discussed and agreed with the school board and the mentee themselves. We may have to prepare the foundation for mentoring. This could be to introduce and explain the concept, discuss how sessions operate and come to agreements on confidentiality, feedback and objectives of the sessions. There may be initial distrust of the process if it is unknown or perceived as threatening to the recipient. Therefore, relationship-building and discussion of needs through mentoring may have to precede the actual start of any mentoring arrangement.

Teacher Mentoring
We will work with individual or groups of teachers in a mentoring arrangement as outlined in the section above.

School-based Consultancy
We will lead or work with school practitioners on a particular area of development or professional development project as identified through the TNA and for a specified period of time as per a service agreement.
